The club recently took part in the GB80LAN special event, commemorating the first operational sortie of the Avro Lancaster ( to lay mines in Heligoland Bight ), 80 years ago. The event took place from 1st-28th March, with several clubs with associations to stations operating the Lancaster (RAF Waddington, RAF Cosford, RAF Halton and Lincoln Shortwave Club) sharing the use of the callsign over the duration of the event.
