Special Event Station GB0NAM, September 2023

We were back at the Newark Air Museum for the weekend of 16-17 September, for the 60th anniversary of the museum’s Avro Vulcan XM594 entering RAF service in September 1963 at RAF Scampton.

Using the callsign GB0NAM, we made many contacts on HF (CW and SSB), and on 2m. Our thanks to those stations who took the time to contact us on what was a very enjoyable weekend in fine weather. The Maidenhead/QRA locator for the museum is IO93OC and the WAB square is SK85.

Special Event Station G6IBC, September 2023

Members of RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club were on the air for the “Wings and Wheels” event at the International Bomber Command Centre this Sunday, 3rd September, using the callsign GB6IBC. We made a number of contacts with radio amateurs and would like to thank all the stations who took the time to contact us. We were also able to promote amateur radio to the many members of the publlic who visitied the station during the day!

Special Event Station GB0NAM, June 2023

A good time was had by all at the weekend’s Special Event Station at
Newark Air Museum’s Cockpit-Fest . We operated mostly on HF (40m, 20m and 17m) as 2m was very quiet, using the SES callsign GB0NAM, during a rather warm weekend! We would like to thank the stations we had contacts with, including a number of stations activating museum sites for Museums on the Air.
