Training

Training is free to club members and is provided ad-hoc by our training officer to suit individual needs. Structured courses are not offered; instead support is offered on a 1-to-1 basis (via video call or email) to support students’ self-learning. This allows students to learn at their own pace, but with support available to clarify difficult concepts. The provision of sample test questions and working through examples gives students the confidence and knowledge to sit the exam (Foundation, Intermediate or Full) for which they are studying.

Although training is offered free to club members, it is expected that students will purchase the RSGB training manuals for themselves here. Currently, it is recommended that students sit the exams using the online remotely-invigilated exam system provided by the RSGB. Visit this page to find out how to book and pay for your exam; the page also contains useful FAQs accessible from it’s right-hand column.

Once you’ve gained that all-important Foundation licence, you’ll want to put all that hard-earned knowledge into practice! Help is available via the RSGB “Beyond Exams” Scheme which will point you to resources that will help you gain practical skills.
