Contesting

An amateur radio contest is a time-limited competition between licensed radio amateurs and can last anything from 1 hour to 48 hours. Competitors try to make as many verified contacts as possible, exchanging standard information (such as callsign, signal report, location), as specified in the contest rules.

Contesting tests the effectiveness of the participants’ station equipment and operating skills, frequently leading to improvements in both!

Club members regularly participate in the RSGB 3.5MHz Club Championship contests and in the VHF UKAC contest series in the local category with the Virtual Meeting Place centered on locator IO93OG (Dunham Bridge).
